End of January 2026 check in. I want to put together a simple “help thread starter pack” for the 3D Printing Forum so troubleshooting threads get useful answers faster, with less back-and-forth. A lot of good members are willing to help, but it gets slow when we have to ask for the same basics every time.

When you’re trying to help someone, what details do you always wish they included up front? Printer model, filament type, temps, speeds, slicer settings, photos, error messages, what changed recently, anything like that. If you have a personal “I can’t diagnose anything without this” list, drop it, and I’ll compile a clean template we can point new folks to.

I always wish people wrote what changed last, even if it feels unrelated. New roll, new nozzle, moved the printer, firmware update, different slicer profile, different room temp. That one line usually explains the mystery.

My must haves are a photo, what material, what temps, and what the printer is. If it’s a weird issue, layer height and print speed help a lot too, plus whether it used to work with the same roll.
