PETG has become my everyday filament over PLA

PLA is great for learning and prototypes but I switched most of my functional prints to PETG and I'm not looking back. It is tougher with less brittle and handles some heat where PLA fails, and it's not that much harder to print once you understand it. The main adjustments are to dry your filament first (PETG is moisture-hungry), slower first layer, slightly higher temps and back off the cooling fan...

Stringing is the one annoying thing PETG does and the fix is almost always retraction tuning plus a slight temp drop. Print a retraction tower if you're struggling, it'll sort you out fast.

Yes I switch over to PETG . I love the way my prints tuen out.

PETG’s learning curve is mostly tuning but once it clicks it’s hard to go back to PLA for anything functional.

Have you guys seen Polymakers new high temp PLA? Supposedly stands up to heat better than PETG?

It’s improved PLA, so it resists heat better than standard PLA but PETG is still generally tougher and more consistent for real-world heat and stress applications.
