What 3D printing habit are you done with in 2026?

Alright 3D Printing Forum crew, it’s early 2026 and I’m making a vow I can actually keep!

I’m done doing the “first layer looks kinda fine” thing and walking away like I didn’t just watch it lay down spaghetti for 20 seconds. I swear that tiny moment is the fork in the road between a clean print and a full emotional breakdown later.

So what’s your 2026 “I’m done doing this” vow for 3D printing?

Skipping first layer checks, ignoring filament storage, not cleaning the bed because you “just cleaned it”, changing settings mid print and praying, starting a long print at night and hoping the printer magically behaves

Drop one bad habit you’re leaving in 2025 and what you’re replacing it with. Even if it’s just “I will watch the first 3 minutes like a responsible adult.”

I’m done pretending the bed is clean because it “looks” clean. In 2026 I’m actually wiping it down before big prints and not acting surprised when adhesion fails.

I’m done doing the “I’ll just tweak retraction mid print and hope” thing.
New rule is if a print looks off, I stop it and fix the profile first, then rerun. Less heroic, way less spaghetti.
