Next week, lawmakers in Sacramento will vote on a proposal that could put every 3-D printer under government control. On Tuesday, March 24th, the Assembly Committee on Public Safety will hear Assembly Bill 2047, which would subject 3-D printers to major new restrictions.

Probably registration. I guess they are afraid someone will 3d print a gun. Of course, it would blow up on first firing, but facts mean nothing to politicians.
