There is something about leaving a printer alone for a while that seems to invite problems back into the room. Everything looks fine until the first print reminds you otherwise.

When issues only show up after the printer has been sitting idle, where do you start troubleshooting? Interested to hear what most people check first before going down the full rebuild rabbit hole.

When a printer sits for a bit, I always start with the simple stuff. Belts, screws, and anything that can loosen over time. Then I check the filament path because that’s where idle time seems to cause the most sneaky problems. I try hard not to assume it needs a full teardown right away.
