Cooler temps making your resin take longer to cure?

The temps have started dropping here in Kentucky, and I’m noticing my resin prints are taking a lot longer to cure like sometimes an extra 10–15 minutes compared to what I was doing back in summer. I’m using a basic UV curing station, same setup and resin, but the difference is really noticeable. Anyone else seeing the same thing this fall? Do you just bump up the curing time, or add some kind of enclosure or heater around your setup to keep things consistent?

I’ve been playing with putting the curing station inside a small enclosure lined with foil and a temp sensor. Keeps the heat in and the light bounce strong. Not fancy, but it cut my cure time back to summer levels.

Yeah, resin hates the cold. You can bump your cure time, but it’s better to keep the temp stable. Even a little enclosure or heat pad under the turntable helps. Once you get it back to summer temps, you’ll see those clean finishes again.

I preheat my resin to the manufacturers recommended printing temperature using a cup heater and a water bath in a stainless bowl and use a brew bin heater band on the printer vat to maintain resin temperature throughout the print.
My prints are far more reliable now, to the point that failure has become a very rare occurrence.
