Resin detail still blows my mind, what was your first wow print?

I’m still kind of new to resin, but I had one of those moments this week where I just stared at the print like… how is this even real. The detail is so crisp that it almost doesn’t feel like something I made at home.

My little wow moment was a small mini sized head sculpt I printed for a test. The eyelashes and tiny folds in the hair actually showed up clean, and I barely had to do anything after curing besides a quick support cleanup. I’ve done FDM for a while, so seeing that kind of surface finish straight off the plate felt insanely satisfying.

What was the print that made you fall in love with SLA or DLP? Minis, jewelry, mechanical parts, props, anything that made you go okay yeah this is why resin is worth it.

That first resin “how is this real” moment never gets old. For a lot of folks it’s a tiny mini or a face sculpt where pores and hair texture actually show up. If you want to keep that wow factor consistent, dial in exposure and supports on one trusted test file and reuse it anytime you change resin or temperature.

My first wow print was a small mechanical hinge test. The part fit was fine on FDM, but resin made the edges look machined and the pins snapped in clean without sanding. That was the moment I stopped thinking of resin as only for minis
