how do I get solid, opaque colors with resin?

I’m trying to move past translucent prints and get some deep, opaque colors. specifically a solid white, a bright yellow, and a neon safety orange
Should I start with clear resin and add specific pigments, or am I better off mixing colors into white resin? I’ve seen people mix white, but it usually just ends up looking like a pale pastel. I want something rich and solid
Anyone successfully tried this and have tips on the best pigments or base resins to use for this?

Opaque resin color can be tricky. Are you trying to get the color straight out of the printer, or are you open to painting after? Also what resin type are you using now, standard, ABS-like, or water-washable?

if you start with a standard White resin and add drops of standard dye, you'll get a baby blue or a pale pink
the trick is to use pigment pastes (like the ones from Monocure 3D or SmoothOn) instead of liquid alcohol inks.
pastes are way more concentrated, if you want that rich neon orange, try mixing a tiny amount of neon orange paste into a translucent or clear white mix
it gives the color depth without the chalky look of a pure white base

Alumilite also sells liquid resin dyes, some opaque and some translucent. Several drops and a good mix usually give me the color I want. If I have a colored resin at the start, I sometimes add a couple of drops into the bottle to intensify the color, esp. with the translucent resins. You can order on Amazon.
