PETG not holding up in the heat

I've been making some clips and hooks to use outside, printing with 1.75mm PETG on my Bambu P1P. I thought it would be fine in the summer heat, but after a few sunny days, the thinner parts started to bend.

I know polycarbonate is strong, but it's quite pricey. Has anyone found a cheaper filament that can handle heat and sun better than PETG? Heard ASA might work, but not sure if it's worth trying. Thanks for any advice!

PETG outside is kinda a gamble. ASA or ABS are your budget-friendly upgrades. They'll survive summer way better than PETG. PC is stronger, but unless you need crazy strength, ASA gets the job done for cheaper.

Surprising - I thought PETG would stand up great outdoors?

Def, look at High-Temp PLA - people say it holds up better than PETG. I print it super easy, but have not tested it's resistance to high temps

Yeah, ASA would be a good step up from PETG for outdoor stuff, it handles UV and heat much better
