Same PLA setup all year, December ruined my first layers

I’ve been running the same PLA setup basically all year with zero drama. Same filament brand, same slicer profile, same bed routine. Then December hits and suddenly my first layers just don’t want to stick anymore.

I didn’t change anything on purpose, which is what’s throwing me off. The only real difference I can think of is the room itself getting colder. Now I’m wondering if my bed leveling has been barely good enough all year and winter temps finally exposed it.

Anyone else notice first-layer issues popping up toward the end of the year even though nothing obvious changed?

I’ve had the same thing happen and it always makes me laugh because I swear nothing changed. Turns out the room did. Winter air plus PLA is enough to humble a “perfect” setup real quick.

Yep, winter can absolutely expose a “barely fine” first layer. Colder room temp can change how the bed and frame expand, plus PLA can behave a little different when the surface is cooler.
