anyone used overseas 3D printing services?

I keep seeing ads pop up for 3D printing services, even from companies overseas. One that came up was an Australian outfit offering printing, scanning, CAD design, even failure analysis. Honestly, I don't even know if it makes sense to use something that far away when we've got so many options here in the US. Has anyone here ever actually sent files to an overseas shop? Did the cost savings outweigh the shipping headaches, or is it just easier to stick local?

WithTrump's tariff it will become very very expensive. I recently had PCB house to make some boards cost 3 times more them before the tariff cost.
