How long was your last successful print?

I finally worked up the courage to run a long print again and tried a 14 hour enclosure part over the weekend. I was basically looking at it it every hour because the last time I attempted something this long, it failed halfway and made a mess that took forever to clean up. This one actually made it to the finish line, but I still feel like it was pure luck. Now I’m wondering how everyone else is doing with long prints lately. What’s the longest one you’ve tried in the last few weeks and did it actually survive the whole run? I’m in Wisconsin and the room gets a little colder at night, so maybe that makes things more unpredictable. Curious to hear what people are pulling off this month.

I print Resin, it's now rare that I get any failures at all, my last fail was due to my failing to ensure the resin was at the manufacturer's recommended minimum temperature.

Oh nice, that’s actually pretty reassuring to hear. I’ve never tried resin so I always assumed it was even fussier, but it sounds like temperature control is the real key. Kinda makes me wonder if my cold Wisconsin room is what’s messing with my longer prints. Appreciate you sharing that!

you know, that 14hour print is a huge victory! And you are right, cold room temps are the enemy of long prints, especially with materials like ABS and PETG that need consistent heat to prevent warping.
If you can't heat the whole enclosure, aim your heat source (even a hairdryer or small heater) at the base plate for the first few hours. Getting that adhesion locked down is everything!
My personal longest recent print was 42hours (a helmet section!) and it only survived because I enclosed the printer in a homemade foam box

Nice win on the 14-hour run. Cold swings in Wisconsin can definitely change how long prints behave, especially with enclosure temps dropping overnight. Are you running the printer in a closed room or does the temp drift a lot where you have it?
