I ran into this yesterday printing PETG and it took me awhile to find the issue, so I'm sharing here.
I had the printer stop and throw an error saying it wasn't extruding filament. After several times of taking the nozzle apart and a couple of different spools of filament, I finally found the issue.
I started with a roll.of transparent filament. I think maybe it had a little too much moisture in it as the cutter in the print head got stuck in it. This prevented the blade from retracting effectively putting a wall across the extruder into the hot end. It was not obvious at first and certainly not easy to see. Wish I had taken a picture to share.
Anyway, if you run into this error, take a close look to make sure the blade in the extruder exit isn't stuck.
