I need to watch some videos on cad software - even tinkercad would be good to learn. All I ever do is download things already made.

Tinkercad allows you to collaborate with others on your designs. This feature could be useful in helping you build your skills.

I just discovered that tinkercad has tutorials. They in the form of lesson plans. I learned by trail and many many errors. Wish I had studied first.

I have used both OpenSCAD and FreeCAD for many years to produce a wide variety of designs. If you are interested in trying the latter, I highly recommend the YouTube channel by Mang0Jelly. No affiliation, other than that I find his videos invaluable - he has a series introducing 3d CAD using FreeCAD, plus other videos that explore more advanced topics. I don't think he's done a single video where I haven't learned something new and valuable.
