What’s the most unexpectedly fun thing you’ve gotten into lately?

Let’s do a light, fun thread. What hobby have you picked up recently that surprised you by being genuinely fun? It can be anything, creative, sports, cooking, collecting, learning an instrument, whatever.

What do you like about it, and what’s the easiest way for a total beginner to try it without spending a ton of money? If you have a favorite “starter” tip, drop it, because these threads always end up giving people ideas for their next weekend project.

I also got into making tiny desk upgrades, like cable clips and little trays. Cheap way to try it is grab one free simple STL and focus on one clean print. It feels good when it actually comes out right.

Lately I got weirdly into model painting and it has been way more fun than I expected. It hits the same brain spot as 3D printing, you get a finished thing at the end, but it is quieter and less troubleshooting.

Cheap starter tip is buy one small set of brushes, one primer, and a couple basic colors. Do not buy a whole wall of paint on day one.
