3D printing softwares

I got pulled into one of those tech newsletters again, this one was a 2025 roundup of 3D Printing Softwares. It was written by a scanner company, and some picks felt off. They listed their own scan tool as a modeling app. And skipped over PhotonSlicer, which I've been using for resin prints and find way more user-friendly than some of the ones they included. Curious, what would be your top 3 3D printing softwares?

Those roundups are often just thinly veiled marketing! My personal picks depend on what I'm printing. I'd list Fusion 360 for modeling, OrcaSlicer for slicing, Blender for organic modeling, and Chitubox for resin printing!

I never trust those “best software” lists. They always push sponsor picks. My top three? Cura for quick jobs, PrusaSlicer for reliability, and Meshmixer for fixing bad scans. PhotonSlicer’s good too like it’s just not flashy enough for marketing writeups.

@Slievemore_1992 Photon Slicer is great! For resin, my top two would definitely be Chitubox and Lychee. They offer much better support generation tools than most of the default slicers, which is key for resin success

I'm using Voxeldance Tango, supports, slice time, part fix etc. are Night and Day better than Chitubox or Lychee
