Are AI slicers actually helping with print quality?

I keep seeing ads and videos about new AI-assisted mumbo for slicers that supposedly optimize settings automatically, predict print failures, and fine-tune supports for you. It sounds cool but I’m sketched out if it’s actually useful or just another buzzword update.

For those of you who’ve tried one, is the AI really improving your prints, or are you still tweaking things manually anyway? I’m printing mostly PLA and PETG here in Alabama, and I’d love something that helps with warping or overhang issues without spending all night adjusting settings. What’s your experience been so far is it really smoother prints or just more marketing fluff?

Honestly, most of it’s still more hype than game changer although some AI slicer tools do a decent job predicting obvious failures or auto generating supports, but you’ll still end up tweaking settings yourself. For PLA and PETG, good tuning beats the AI features nine times out of ten

It’s a time saver, not a miracle worker. I use Bambu Studio’s AI suggestions mostly for infill and support tweaks, and it does make setup faster. But print quality gains are minor unless your base settings were way off before. Still gotta dial temps, speed, and cooling yourself if you want perfect PETG.
