Help with occasional 3D prints.

Hi. I'm just getting back into rocketry after about a 50 year hiatus, and mostly focused on low power, classic and oddball rockets. I'm not planning on getting into printing, but I need a nose cone printed for a 3 inch upscale scratch build. Is anyone on here interested in the hassle of printing a part and mailing it to me, at a reasonable cost? I had a nose cone printed by a friend who has printers, but he's not really into rockets so doesn't understand what I need. Plus, he's not willing to do it for me as a paying customer, but just when we can work a trade of some kind. I have an STL file for an Estes Cherokee nosecone, but I need it scaled to fit a LOC 3.1" body tube.

Welcome to the forum and welcome back to rocketry. That sounds like a fun project to jump back into after all these years. We do have members here who help with one-off prints and small hobby parts. Scaling an STL for a specific body tube is very doable, especially if the shoulder fit matters. You might want to share what material you prefer and roughly where you are located so anyone interested can chime in.

There are a lot of people who 3d print rocket parts. I think there's a few who have 3d print shops businesses too.

Cool project, Red Riley. If you already have the STL, the key is usually the shoulder diameter and length so it seats clean and doesn’t wobble. Do you want a snug friction fit, or are you planning to use tape or a coupler. Also what kind of finish do you want, raw print is fine, or do you want it sandable and paint friendly.
