What new filaments are you loving (or hating) lately?

I’ve been trying out a few new filaments lately before jumping into some holiday projects, and it’s been a mixed bag so far. I picked up a wood PLA blend for a few decorative prints, and while the finish looks awesome, it’s way trickier to dial in compared to my usual PLA+. I’ve also got a roll of carbon fiber PETG waiting for something sturdier, but I haven’t tested it yet. Anyone else experimenting with new materials before the year ends? I’m curious what’s been worth the hype and what’s more hassle than it’s worth. Kansas air’s been dry lately, so I’ve had fewer moisture issues, but I’m still seeing some weird extrusion inconsistencies here and there.

I gave wood PLA a shot too, and it’s one of those “love the look, hate the tuning” situations. The smell is great though, kinda like burnt toast. I’ve had better luck with carbon fiber PLA than PETG so far like fewer stringing issues and easier cleanup. Just make sure to swap in a hardened nozzle unless you want to chew through a brass one in a weekend.

Wood PLA really can be a mood. Looks great when it works, but getting that sweet spot between temp and flow takes patience. Carbon-fiber PETG should feel like a totally different animal compared to the wood blend. Out of the rolls you’ve tried so far, which one has surprised you the most in terms of print behavior?

I have of luck with ESun's PETG filament.
