What 3D printing upgrade did you realize you didn’t need?

What 3D printing upgrade did you swear you needed at first, then later realized was totally optional once you got real seat time with your printer.

Was it a hardware thing like a hotend, extruder, enclosure, bed surface, linear rails, fans, cameras, or even a whole new printer. Or was it software related like switching slicers, fancy profiles, or chasing perfect settings.

What did you focus on instead that actually moved the needle for you. And if you can, share your printer and material so newer folks can see the pattern.
 
For me it was nozzle diameter. For a solid while I printed exclusively with a 1mm nozzle. I initially started printing with the larger diameter nozzle because I liked the added strength and weight of the prints. Eventually I found it a hassle especially if I wanted to print models found online that were not designed for such a large diameter nozzle.
